With just under 900 miles on the odometer I'm getting 32 USA mpg, mostly in Sport mode with the A/C on all of the time. The outside temperature was on 100* today!

i dont own one yet...but i took one for a long test drive with the dealer and I was seeing consistent 55+MPGs from the Fuel Economy readout. but in econ the car cant get out of its own way, and i was driving very tame, since thats how i would want to drive 90% of the time

Fit's have been known to get 37-40mpg with tame driving and the Fit has a more wrung out version of the L15 and a shorter top gear. Expect 40+ for full tanks if you favor top gear and keep your speed down.

Now back to the real world estimates.

Hey, that was the final reading right before I filled it up that week. Almost all of the driving was in Sport mode. On my latest tank I've been using only Eco mode and the display shows an average of 37.6 MPG after only 63 miles. I have been trying to get the best MPG possible out of this tank, with very slow acceleration, traffic awareness... some basic hypermiling techniques.

Regards,

ender

I don't understand this car. What is the point of this car? Did the epa undershoot it's actual mpg? Why is the mpg so awful? I get 34-38 in my civic ex consistently, worst I've ever gotten was probably 31 or 32 and thats because of autocross runs. Why is this even a hybrid?

I've been getting 38-42 USA mpg on a 6sp EX. The MID readings can be +/-0.7 different from my own calculation. I don't know why EPA rate for this car is so low. I can easily do better than 31/37 in normal mode.

Hybrid can give better FE when it is being used for that. But that's not the only thing it can do. The slightly power boots is also a welcome feature.
