Engine help
my engine light came on my 88 Si. I didn't know you could find the problem out by counting the blinks on the ECU.
MY PROBLEM is I shut the car off and now I cant get my engine light to come back on so I can find the problem. I tried disconnecting the battery, and connecting it again but that doesn't work.
I know somethings wrong with the car because it hesitates around 2000 rpms and the exhaust pipe smells like gas and I get smoke coming out of it at about 5000 rpms. I don't think it burns gas because I just had it E-tested.
How do I get the engine light to come back on.

Re: Engine help (Restored_CRX_SI)
Just drive it around until the engine light comes on again. Then find someplace to park and check the ecu for the code. Disconnecting the battery will reset the ecu, btw.

Re: Engine help (Restored_CRX_SI)
Seems to me that your oxygen (02)sensor is going bad. Just get one from your nearest parts store and replace it. It should cost you about $40 give or take a few. Once your done take of the hazard fuse out for about 10 seconds and VOILA your done.
