electronics?? anyone know what this is?? ak-27?
can anyone identify this and what it does and where it's actually supposed to be mounted. it was just under my steering column hung and the fuse panel was keeping it up. i was told that it was something with the electronics by the kid i got the car from and he said that if i unplug it the car wont start...
also does anyone have a diagram of what the wiring behing your audio is supposed to look like (the harness plug that goes to like the clock and the ciggarete lighter) because somebody did an awesome job of hacking it all up in my car.. the cigarrete lighter is spliced into a wire that runs over to the fuse box and is attached to one of the 10watt fuses?? so im trying to fix all that and probably buy a new one of heatshrink everything then i have to clean up my audio wiring cause they did that poorly also
any help

I know exactly what that is. It smoked and fried when I had my fuse box harnesses plugged in backwards (dont ask). When I removed it, I discovered that my dash lights did not work at all. After we opened it up, and resoldered the power transistor in there, dash lights worked again!
I swear I had a post on here about that, but I cant find it now.

Re: (X EF*Killa X)
I think its a resistor for the dash lights. There were subtle differences between the 88-89 and 90-91 cars. Mine is an 88 and when I tried to put the rounded gauge cover on, I smoked the dash light dimmer switch, most likely because of a lack of that piece. Try unplugging it and see if your car starts. I'll guess your dash lights wont work

this is probably no longer an issue for you, but i found my post in somebody elses thread. the only difference is mine says AK22, but I will bet money it is the same component.
