What's next for me? Suggestions?
So far this is what I have (in the 99' hatch):
ENGINE
-'94 JDM B18C
-Injen RD cai
-stock header
-2.25" exhaust magnaflow
-also took out rear seats, carpeting, spare, etc...
Now, what do you all think I should do next? This spring I'm upgrading the suspension :
-springs
-shocks
-sway bars
-camber kit
But as far as go fast goodies go, what's the most worth it?
I was thinking greddy turbo system. (aprox $2900) But then I was thinking about some Skunk 2 or Taisen cams. Ya know, like maybe something all motor... cams and ecu upgrade.
My goal is to run low 13's in the quarter. 12s would be awesome, but I would definately be very happy with low 13s. cams and ecu upgrade would run around $1000 +? maybe? But I'm still leaning toward turbo.. I think it would be more fun. I would want a smaller turbo ( putting on my flame retardant suit on ) because it would be for mostly street / highway driving, and I usually drive around the 2000rpm to 4000 rpm range on the street, and would like a quicker spool up. Plus it would be hopefully soon a carb exempt kit. Just something to boost up to like 6 - 8 psi. Nothing big.
Now I don't wanna hear anything about 'if you have no lag , you have no turbo'
My goal is not to have a 10 sec car... just a nice, clean , quick daily driver. So whadda ya think? turbo or some all motor parts?
Pro's / Cons?

Go all motor
Get an ITR tranny. Or a shorter final drive and an lsd.
Super worth it
i just have an intake, exhuast and itr tranny and i am running pretty good times(for what i got). Your final drive will make a night and day difference. Go through gears quicker and you will stay in a higher rpm( strong vtec).
good luck

I have an LSD already.

I though that the GSR trannie was pretty close to the ITR though... When I take it up all the way to 8000 I'm still quite high in the rpm band when i shift ... only drops to like 5-6K.
I dont' wanna be crusin on the highway at high rpms either.. at 80mph, i'm already at 4 grand on the tach

all motor setup for low 13s will be expensive you could break into the high 13s w/out too much $$$ but taking another second off your 1/4 would take significant rebuild/tuning....i would personally lean toward the small turbo setup since it would get you to your goal easier, probably with less financial output and you could always take it off or sell it later much easier. of course it's all a matter of personal opinion b/c maybe you would rather have the challenge of building your car over time (all motor) vs all at once (turbo)

you better decide if youre gonna go turbo or not before you get cams or an ecu upgrade. i personally would do all motor. vtec sounds absolutely beautiful with a really aggressive cam. my next project is gonna be all motor. but if you do go turbo, ive got a greddy kit and i love it.

good point of course. some people like the sound of vtec but some people like the whoosh of a bov. now that i think of it i guess it wouldnt be a LOT of money compared to a turbo to hit 13.0 all motor w/ slicks but i was assuming that he wanted to be that fast on street tires and full interior cause real world times are what matter to the daily driver
