Turbo vs. NA Cams: What's the difference?
I'm looking for a physics lesson here. I've read a bunch of stuff on how cams work. However, I don't get what aspects differ between a Turbo or NA camshaft. Is it the overlap? I don't know, thats just a shot in the dark.
I'm just trying to become a more informed consumer. I should mention that I plan on going turbo. My current car parts budget puts that over a year away, but its never to soon to start learning right? When I do eventually go turbo, I will be upgrading both top and bottom end at the same time. Also, I own a gsr that is daily driven.

Yep to much exhaust overlap on N/A cams caused the boosted to blow through with out making full use of it.

NA cams have higher lift and longer duration. Turbos love the higher lift but not the longer duration because of more overlap, the time when both the intake and exhaust valves are opened at the same time.
