what would I need to hit 14's...
I want my SOHC hatchback to hit in the 14's..and want it street drivable..No turbo, slick, supercharge, baby bottle, nor puting my car on a diet...I want it all motor..
this is what I was thinking to do..
y8 head on the y7 block
y8 intake manifold
crower stage 2 camshaft
crower valve spring and retainer
aem cam gear
aem cai intake
dc 4-1 header
some exhaust system(not sure which one yet)
y8 tranny
chipped p28
would this be enough to do it? reply on what you think ..thanks for reading

I honestly think you might need alittle more but then again my friend hit 15.3 with his z6 EG hatch with just i/h/e and drag radials with no rear seats. I hit 15.7 with my DX powered EG with just i/h/e and a chipped ecu like 3 years ago. Obviously the EG is lighter than an EK but hey you never know. As long as you hook up ok and the weather isn't too hot, you might have a chance. GOOD LUCK

yeah, I hit 16.5 a few times... what were your 60ft times and how much does your car weigh?
after the 60ft, theres not a whole lot you can do that takes any skills going as slow as we do. lol

Re: (ekhatch9)
I hit 15.7 in my eg hatch three weeks ago with just intake and header on winter tires im running a z6 with a dx tranny.
I think i can hit 14s with a heavy duty clutch kit and flywheel, individual throtle bodies, a straight pipe, and an ex tranny.
My 60 ft was 2.3, reaction time was .006

everything stripped but carpet and front seats (del sol seats), and carbon fiber hood. We stripped all sound deadening as well as the firewall mat behind the dash (he slid his car into a ditch before and it filled halfway up with water, so we pulled everything out and only put back what was necessary). I don't know how he launched, but he pulled a 2.2 60' on 16" rotas and run of the mill street tires.
*Edit- forgot to mention it was a z6 tranny (not sure if there is a big difference in gear ratios). when he drowned his car, he hydrolocked the z6, hence a 95 w/Y8.

Why do you want to keep the D-series and be in the 14's? To me, it just doesn't seem worth it the even build a car just to be in the 14's. My advice would be to get a 90-93 Integra B18A bottom end and 94-01 B18B head and turbo it. It is pretty cheap and has a lot more potential.

I don't think you'll make it without at least a cam.
