What is this unused wire connector for?
It's in a little protective clip that holds it onto that bracket, but you can take the connector out of the clip.

Tach test wire.
It's for a tech to plug a tach into while working on the engine (handy for doing things like setting the idle speed) It can also be tapped into for an aftermarket tach, or an autostart for the tach signal.
