93' Si hatchback, CX motor?
Alright, so I'm about to pick up a 93 Si hatch shell. It has no motor, no trans, and no exhaust. But I do live in Illinois and it IS rust free, and I'm getting it at a very cheap price.
Now the guy im getting it from is willing to part with a D15b8 motor out of a CX for $200. including the wiring harness and ECU.
I'm not too familiar with the Si's, so I'm just wondering if the motor mounts and everything match up in the Si for the D15.
I know thats a weak motor, but i'll either throw it in the hatch untill i get a few more bucks saved up, or I'll sell it (or not even buy it) and get a LS or GSR swap.
Any suggestions?
I'm new to H-T.

it is really hard to find anything rust free in illinois lol
but yeah, anything d series will fit in an eg easily, i'm pretty sure f series is the same too
as long as you don't get into b, h, or k series swaps it'll be fairly easy for a new comer
if you need help or have questions about it you can message me on fb and i'll help you out to the best of my knowledge
i also have a lot of parts laying around from past hondas even though i have a b series now
so just let me know if you end up needing anything

^^ Exactly. Meaning F series is a PITA. B series would be easier.
I hate how people just talk out of there *** and assume something stupid like "well F series is SOHC, so it has to be just like the D series."
Don't offer advice unless you know what you are talking about.

A f series mounts the same as a h series and will be more difficult swaps.

Yes in his case it would be a drop in plug and play deal, unless it was a gsr swap. That is why I said when applicable

Noz79: Ya, it is an Si. Thats why if i throw in the CX motor, i wont throw out or sell the si ecu.
But is it worth the hassle of putting in the CX motor untill i get a new one?
Right now i drive a truck, so itll be a lot easier saving money once i get the civic running.
But is it worth the hassle doing two swaps technically?

B and d series differ on these. Mine is a b but yea if u wanna drop one u have to have the mounts for it... Sk hes u need more than just wording mods when interchanging them

Pros- you'll get to find out what else can be wrong with car. You'll familiarize yourself with how to do the swap. You'll be able to sell that swap a lot quicker if its in the car already and you showed it to someone running. Gas mileage would be better than the truck.
Cons- you gotta do it twice. Money may be an issue.

From my knowledge stock D series mounts in a 92-00 Civic will work with B series as long as you have the correct rear T bracket, and the correct driver side mount bracket.

Well when I think of a b-swap or a swap period, I think of a complete swap including linkage, ecu, and axles. The mounts are the same except on some models of both d and b series. The difference is the drivers side mount which can be a 2 or 3 bolt mount.
