What does it take to install a JDM import D15 motor?
Well, I am looking for a replacement longblock for my '93 h/b with a d15b7, and I'm very much thinking about a JDM imported motor with less than 50k miles.
What would I need to do to install one? Is there any concerns I should consider?
If I simply swap over my 5spd trans, distributer, intake, accessories, etc, would it be a strait drop in and run kinda deal?
Thanks for any info!

Well the most important thing you need is money. Then tools, then alot of drinks and pizza's. If you have all that then you could do the swap without problems.
Now if your missing any of those then youll have alot of problems.

I would want a JDM motor because they are relatively cheap, I am having trouble finding much else near me, and it would leave me with a nearly new engine.
Are they really that differant as to be a huge pain?
I already managed to pull the old motor without much problem.
What actually needs to be done to swap one in? (swap the same motor type that is, D15, for D15)

just get the whole swap with the tranny, it will be much better than the b7 tranny...i would get it from hmotorsonline.com
everything should bolt right in also, you will just have to wire up the vtec. you will be very happy with the jdm d15b V-Tech...

A complete swap can be done in two or three hours if you're quick. A longblock swap will take about an hour longer. This is, of course, assuming you have all the necessary parts, all the necessary tools, and a quick mechanic who knows what he's doing.

I am sticking with the same stock motor because I get excellent gas mileage, I want a stock car, and I do not care about performance in this car. It is a good daily driver, and I drive it like an old lady.
