Default A way to adjust windows in/out?

Ok, so before I purchased my car it was broken into, and it looks like they just pryed the window outwards to get in to the locks. So now when I go to put the window up I have to push it inwards from the outside as I roll it up so I can get a seal so it won't leak. My question is... is there a way to adjust so it rolls up correctly? I'm sure someone else has had this problem as well, but I couldn't find a post when I searched, thanks in advance for the help!

Haven't had this problem myself, but I'd suggest pulling the door panel off and seeing if the tracks or the regulator needed to be adjusted. Some of that may have been bent when it was broken into.

There's a way to adjust the tracks? I have the panel off now, but have not seen anything like that.

well, I know when I was tearing down my parts car, the bottom part of the tracks pushed up inside of the top part. I'd think that where it is just pushed up inside, that you could grip the bottom part where it's bolted and give it a bit of a bend, if that's how it's bent out.

Another thought that came to mind is that the regulator or something in that assembly might be bent. You might be better off taking the glass out and the regulator, too, and making sure that everything looks straight. Personally, I'd think that the bottom tracks are bent in a bit toward the inside of the car from what you're describing.

Alright thanks, I'll give the "bend" method a try... lol, that sounds like it should work. Yeah you're right, that is most likely how it was bent in the first place from when they pryed it to get in. They also jacked the mirror all up, and put a dent in the top door sill, so if I do screw it up I can just get a new door, lol. Thanks!

if the window was pryed out alot of times the rubber that the window slides up and down in gets messed up. you should take a look at that

Yeah the rubber is messed up, you're talking about the outside seal rubber right? It just has a couple of creases in it from the window pushing it out, not the other way around. The window actually comes out about a full inch it's so bent. Also, the black plastic molding at the rear, right behind the glass is broken off and looks like he just taped/velcroed it back on... ghetto... I might just get a new door.... about to paint anyway, and doors are fairly cheap to come by.

Yes, adjust the tracks, take that cover for the mirrors off and tighten the bolt, then by the bottom where the speaker is close to there is a bolt that needs to be tightened.
