whats up i have a z6 that im droppin into my crx and i will install a turbo down the road, but untill then i want to build the motor to handle higher boost (and rev limit) can someone please give me some direction on where to go with the build and maybe some links??? thanks

^^thats what i meant. you can get tuner toys rods for like 220 shipped, which will be plenty for a d-series build. some pistons and new bearings, and youll be good past 10psi.

I just picked up a d16z6. its gonna be fully rebuild. (all new parts) and I'm going to do a moderate build. I'm hoping to see about 150 whp, what kind of power are those with built z6's seeing, and what mods are involved?

you can run 200 whp with a stock bottom end turbo'd z6 with a GOOD tune

it would be cheaper to go all motor.
its a little thing called ITB'S.
individual throttle bodies.
you can get some itbs for around 250 already mounted on intake runners. then all ya gotta do is tune.
a z6 has already been proven to put down 144 horsepower to the ground with stock internals and itbs.
a complete itb setup + tuning should cost around 500-750.

Or you could do a home made turbo setup at that price and get way more than 144 to the wheels.

My friend has 195whp on a D15B stock internals @ 10.5 psi and another friend who (when we get our DP back) were hoping for 210-230whp.

D series rods are good up to 250whp from what i heard So youll be able to make some nice power off the stocks. But if you want better safe then sorry then do a mild build.

The "STD manifolds" are just the stock, cast iron mani on an STD/HF/CX (I believe CX is included in there) that is ideal for mounting a turbo, plus they are cheeeap!

i sold a set of itb's for a d-series for 220 bucks, gsxr throttle bodies and everything need to bolt on except the gasket, so you can defiantly get them for cheap...

a homemade turbo system is the most cost effective way to get the most power. and yes you can go to about 200hp on a stock bottom end. and if worse comes to worse, just buy a new d15b for a couple hundred and start again. d-series cheapness rocks!

turbo isnt consistant. especially a home -made one.
if you were to go turbo, i highly consider buying a real kit. not a homemade kit.

i dont know what your talking about, a "homemade kit" can be amazingly well rounded and reliable, i know mine is, i pieced mine together so its home made and i love it...

What do you mean by "isnt consistant"?

I had a turbo kit that I made myself and it outperformed 90% of the other kits out there and was much cheaper.
