Default VTEC FLUTTERS......

recently my temp guage is fluctuating up and down when i dont have the heat on the temp needle goes up and stays in the mid section and when its on my needle goes more in the cold zone which is down. also i feel a little slower when vtec cracks ive been told it flutters which when im engauged in vtec it feels like im going in and out of tec doesnt feel strong and pulls like i want it to would the tempature have to do with anything?or what else could it might be my friend said it could be the tempature of the oil.. i did check my oil level and its where it should be on the dip stick so i know its not due to low oil pressure what do you guys think it may be??? if it helps any i have a b16a2 ...

Temperature does affect vtec, so try to figure out if you gauge is **** or the temperature is changing. Other than that I dunno, hopefully someone wiser will chime in.

On a stock ECU, temp will effect the crossover, as in it won't crossover unless it's warm, when they are chipped that can be taken out of the equation though.

Pull off your vtec solenoid and see if the screen is filthy which happens as well. If so, then your oil pressure to the solenoid can be inconsistent and cause it to come in and out.

My car was doing the same thing a couple months ago (not counting the "fluttering") A new thermostat fixed my problem.
