Default vtec?

i have a 99-00 si and i was wondering if there was anything wrong with my vtec solenoid or if it was something else. vtec has a tendency to only kick in when the engine is warmed up. and sometimes it doesn't kick in at all. just wondering if this is normal or whats wrong with it if isn't normal?

Vtec won't engage unless the vehicle is up to Normal Operating Temp.

VTEC only activates when the engine is at operating temperature. Make sure your oil level is correct.

In Addition, there must be enough oil, oil pressure, and obviously (I think) 5200 (or so) rpms.

502 yes he is right . u dont need to run the **** out of it when its cold. hghest u should take it to is like 3500 untill it warms up... in a bank robbery. the driver always has the car warmed up so when the cops try to catch him. BOOM vtec kicks in and they win.
