Default Timing question!!! anyone?

Whats up guys just purchessed a 2000 civic si.

i have a couple check engine lights.

cam shaft fluctuator sensor
crank shaft fluctuator sensor

The person i bought it from said he recently did the timing belt my question is could maybe being a tooth off throw those codes. and or.

the civic has ctr cams and aem adjustable cam gears, could that be an effect?

Ive read some post on some crank fluct. bypass procedures but just wanted to see what you guys thought. Im going to check timing and redue the timing belt, waterpump, and seals so i know everything is good. Also what Ecu does a stock em1 use? thanks for you help.

The cams themselves are factory made so thats not going to throw a code aem cam gears are notorious for slipping. Get a timing light and check the timing it should be +7 if the car is warm but I could be wrong because I don't have the Manuel with me, also check to see if he advanced or retarded the distributor. If he moved it to much one way he did the timing wrong and you should get it redone again.

(In my opinion even though the aem gears look nice put the stock ones in or another brand or change the bolts if there the older ones if seen so many motors get blown for the slipping gear but I don't know if there the newer versions or the older. you know because newer ones have a hex bolt the older ones were allen keys.)

Codes are cleared!!! cars runs great. timing was off and the crank sensor was all bashed up prolly from the timing belt cover (back one) that was falling apart. i got all new covers and crank sensor... i re-did the timing belt/ten/water pump and everything is great...thanks
