Timing belt or tensioner problems...
Ok I just put some CTR pistons and Mugen headgasktet in my b16. I put everything back on. I am now having problems with my timing on the car. I lined the distributor to where it is pointing at the #1 wire. I then set the crank to TDC and put the timing belt back on, with the cams lined up. I give the crank some turns to make sure everything is tight. I then get ready to start the belt skips over the gears. Which indicates that there some sort of slack in the belt. But I have everything tight. Tested the tensioner and everything is fine. What is my next step? Have followed everything in the Helms...need help

Sounds like its a tensioner problem. Make sure the springs on it good and its in its correct location. When you put the belt on the tensioner should be loose and moveable. Have someone hold on to the crank so it doesnt move and pull the belt as tight as you can and put it on the cam gear(s) then rotate a couple times and see if its good.

Re: (Luserkid)
After you loop it first to the crank, then the waterpump/tensioner and finally the cams, you need to rotate the crank counterclockwise until 3 teeth of the cams go by to put tension on it. Then tighten up the tension pulley while holding the crank.
Hope this helps. This is what is required for the d15b SOHC's.
