Default Timing Adjustment help plz

Hey guys, I just changed my timing belt and am trying to adjust my timing with my timing light. according to the specs, i should adjust it at 16 degrees. Anyways, everytime i go to move my dustributor, i keep getting some serious shocks, after the third time i simply stopped and called it a day and figured i would ask here for advice. anyone?

Yes, that is how its done. Does sound like a ground then though, because for some reason it not following its ground path and its jump to you.
