Default The Snowball Effect - PART 2

i guess its time for an update.

here is part 1 if you need some refreshing https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=760795

Been real busy lately w/ school, car, traction bars, etc.

Rebuilt the motor - go the supposedly built d16z6 and it wasnt. the head is all built, but the bottom end was stock, so i put in some eagle h-beams and srp 9.1 pistons. the head is a JG head, w/ springs, ti retainers, turbo cam, oversized valves, p&p, 3 angle, etc.
stock ex tranny and gonna be pegeggin it.

gonna finish up the bodywork tonight - shaving the moldings and hopefully paint it next week. gotta be running by april 4th cause we rented out the track here in ohio. here is a link if you wanna go - https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=794950
needless to say, we drink a lot of beer while working on the car
here are the pics

yea a t3/t04e 60 trim - i dont expect full boost until like 5.5-6k. but it should hit like a ton of bricks!!
yea the stock im is small, im gonna see what i can do with it.
for my thesis for grad school, im gonna do the design of pressurized intake and exhaust mani's. so i'll be building some stuff for it soon!!
thanks for the comments

hope that ssautochrome mani holds up for yah...especially with that bigass turbo. i have heard of guys making a bracket that runs from the DP to the block to take some of the weight of the turbo and also running a section of flewpipe in the DP so when the engine is moving from torque the manifold isnt experiencing stress. then i think it will hold up good. at least i hope so cuz i am going to run one soon too

i totally agree i don't understand why people build the sohc, they cannot make as much power as the dohc

oookkkkkkaayyyyyy - what ever you say.
the stock sleeves are said to be stronger which i am running for now
things a much cheaper and much more easily replaceable on a sohc. and when i blow this block, i'll only have to shell out $100 for a new one.
and they are 100 lbs or so lighter
and its about 4-6 times cheaper to buy

i must be retarted

yea the pos mani will be braced to all hell. still gotta take some more measurements, etc and run some FEA on it to make sure it will hold
and ive got a flex pipe in the exhaust too
the way i have the turbo clocked, its putting a huge moment on the runners, so i have to brace it
