small problem? or big problem?
hey guys, need a response, usdm gsr motors redline at 81-8200rpm, whut it is i dont care, but i think im redlining at 7500...i dont have an aftermarket tach to tell whether or not, but i have an SI cluster out of an eg in my eg. but its starts bouncing at like 7500rpm on this tach, vtec engagement is right on at 4400, and secondaries at 5500. the cluster, motor, and ecu was already in the car when i bought it. its running a p72 ecu, i dont think its been burned or chipped or whutever, cuz i have a dyno sheet saying that it went up to 81-8200rpm and then it drops off. is my ecu having early cutoff issues? is my tach that far off (the tach can go up to 9)? i'd jimmy rig a tach on to see but i dont have one, nor do i know anybody who does, im new in town OR is this something that the ecu does to prevent damage to the engine? i dont know, not throwing any codes though. please help me out thanks-austin

Re: (Bull_head360)
H-T is acting up, this is my 3rd time typing this up.
Anyway the ecu fuse is in the fuse box under the hood in the enginebay.
I think its just your tach though.
