Re: and she finally dies
welp i have had a d16z6 in my coupe to start with, was fun while it lasted, so I bought an LS swap, was fun, for a bit and only ran a 15.01, but it did have 200k on it. lol. Went with a JDM b16 from HMO, was the best set up as of last week, I now have jdm h22. see how that works out. ill post up some numbers once i get the bugs worked out.

Re: and she finally dies
he is, literally, the best.
i did a pile of research before i bought my jdm gsr swap in april of '07. everything pointed to HMO (steve), so i went with him. the swap he sold me was mint mint mint and when i was having trouble with a vibration on acceleration, he sent me another trans no questions asked. it turned out to NOT be the trans in the first place, but the customer service was just incredible.

sent you a whole nother trans? damn lol. thats some service for ya. although it is more expensive i'm still contemplating getting a gsr from them simply because i've heard for so long so many good things. and a friend of mine just ordered an ls from them so i'm curious to see how it looks and hear how it runs once it arrives.

Re: and she finally dies
Get a Short block D16Z6 w/ a Y8 tranny or a D16y8 bottom with a D16Z6 head if you are planning boost.
Always loved a boosted Single cam, people always under estimate a single over a dual.

agreed. if you're going to stay n/a then i'd go with a b. if you're contemplating boost and don't want to spend a lot, then stick with the d.

Re: and she finally dies
was not a daily beater, i was driving up a mountain and it just kinda took a dump on me, not sure what was wrong with it. and the plans were to build and boost for a semi fast 250 whp car for autox and drag that retains 30 mpg so the plan is to keep the D and rebuild with low compression pistons and forged rods. fully tuned for a daily driver and weekend warrior : )

Eh autox not going to be to much fun with a turbo i don't think. you said you beat some b16 you must know how to handle your car well lol. B-Series FTW...

Re: and she finally dies
I don't have a swap yet, so I don't speak from experience, but the more I think about it, the more a GSR is the way to go. They're reliable, decently quick, not too expensive, and not too difficult to install. Sounds like a winner to me. But I just want fun, nice looking daily transportation right now, not a full out race car.
