Service schedule
I'm looking to buy a 1997 honda civic cx. It's stock with 160K miles. I want to know what I should ask about the car or expect to fix soon. Here's the craigslist ad I'm talking about: http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/cto/2136400237.html
They want 2900 or so for it. I'm almost ok with the price but wanted to know if it was too much. Also is the mileage close to the next maintenance schedule? If so what should be looked over?
thanks for your help.

Re: Service schedule
First thing to ask about is if the timing belt and water pump have been changed. If not or they don't have proof at the very least check the belt. I'd probably just change them. Try to make sure its been maintained (fluids changed tuneups done etc) probably needs plugs/wires cap/rotor. If its an auto make sure the tranny fluid is clean and doesn't smell burnt. Ironically I'm buying a dx with the same dent in the hatch as the one in the link lol.
