Seafoam= Good Or Bad
I have a 96 Ek hatch with about 180,000 miles the guy i bought it from used it mostly to commute. i heard about seafoam today and been hearing all but good things about it i wanna try it out on my car just becasue i think it might help it a whole lot. i have been hearing bad things about it though like it could cause leaks and harm your piston rings. i kinda wanna go by people experiences with it like how long ago did you use it and did it really help out. or were there any harmful changes after you used it???? thanks

Re: (dantastic)
I might be nervous if my motor was given dyno juice for the past 100k miles...
But for those that use full synthetic I'd say it's great.

I would never ever use it in my oil.
As for sucking it into your engine
I just use water ( in a spray bottle ), its safer and much better. Basically steam cleaning your engine

i wouldn't use it either. all these reviews require some following up on. if your engine is still running strong at 180k miles, just leave it be and continue driving it.

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
I've used it on a few cars and had good experiences every time...
I used it on my old 135K mile VX hatch, it smoothed out the idle and powerband, it also felt more peppy afterwards.
But then again, I used it in my coupe and didn't feel a thing afterwards... but the coupe's engine was in better shape in the first place.
