Default swapping gsr cluster into ek. need help asap

im in the process of repinning my civic harnesses. im putting a 94 into my 00 civic. i used BlueIntegraBoy's guide https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1053318

it says i need to take E2 RED/BLUE Climate Control and pin it to D5. This E2 is part of a 5 pin harness that is green, exactly like the yellow SRS plug. However, i cant seem to get the pin out so i can repin it. anyone know how to take the pins out of the smaller green harness?

just cut the red/blue wire off the plug and connect it to the other red/blue wire

For mine, it went to cruise control, but i have a 92-95. none of the pins fit my plugs so i cut and reconnected them all and it works fine.

stick a paper clip in under the pin and press it down while pulling the wire out. should work.

it can be tricky. try shaving it down a lil. rub it against concrete to make the end of it more flat

alright, i got it out. however, the pin a different than the others. on the blue harness, the pins have a part that is slanted up so it makes contact with the circuit thing on the cluster. this pin from the other one does not, so how is it spose to work?

might have to use another pin and cut that one off ... then connect it.

I don't think that will work. Just leave it unplugged.

alright.

1) I took E2 (RED/BLUE) CRUISE CONTROL pin out of the small green harness and stuck it into D5. however, it has a different pin, so it doesnt stick out and make contact liek all the other pins do. what do i do about this?

3) What do i do with the rest of the green harness? it contains ground, headlights on, power.

i think thats it for now.

Don't worry about the rest of the green harness. Mine is just hanging behind the cluster.

This guy is incompetent with cars, I sold him my perfectly working GSR gauge cluster and after he tried installing it into his civic, (which he doesn't know how), he messed up the perfectly working gauge cluster I sold him and wants more than a full refund.

I respectfully refused, and listened to his explanation. But after he told me he tried messing with the cluster, and tried rewiring and repinning the cluster, I knew that was the problem

For future reference, please get professional installation or help before you mess something up and blame it on the source.

I have many vouches and have dealt with MANY transactions which have YET ended in dissatisfaction. I do not scam and especially not for some chump change cluster.

Please check out the gauge cluster again with anyone with car sense and most likely you messed up on your part.

I know I didn't do anything wrong.

if anyone is incompetant, its you, because you obviously dont know that repinning a harness has nothing to do with messing with the actual cluster. i have a 00 civic, the civic harness has the same size harness as the integra harness, therefore, all i need to do is repin MY CIVIC HARNESS. i never touched the cluster, so stop saying i messed with the cluster cause i didnt, the only thing i messed with is MY CIVIC HARNESS. inproperly repinning the harness could of been the problem, however, i borrowed my friends 97 gsr cluster, plugged it in and it worked fine. therefore something is wrong with your cluster. also, you stated you never opened the cluster up. however, if you look real closely, there is a sticky residue around the edges of the gauges faces. as well as sticky residue on the sides on the needles, which are not visible unless you tilt it downward. so, dont sit there and say i have no idea what im doing. everything ive installed on my car so far was installed by me. no im not a pro, but i know what the **** im doing, and if i dont, i ask questions to find out for sure before i do anything else. maybe if you're so worried about your reputation, you shouldnt sell broken items. nuff said.

You need to cut off the red/blue CC wire and connect it with a wire that you won't be using in your EK, such as your pink washer fluid wire. Take that connected wire and move it to the cruise control slot. I did this with my friend's EX and it worked fine.

Same thing I had to do. My buddy has a 94 ls so I hooked his cluster up to my car and sure enough...all the gauges worked fine. I ended up buying another used cluster locally for $40. I was able to hook it up before I paid the dude...and everything went smooth.
