S20 92-95 EX/Si or P20 96-00 EX Tranny?
i have a choice of either tranny's.. the s20 came out of a 94 si with 65k and the p20 is unknown. which of the two would be a better choice? i'm doing a jdm d15b swap in my 92 civic CX and will eventually boost.

both trannys are pretty much identical, the only difference i believe is that the shift linkage on the p20 is stronger compared to the s20. i would just see which tranny was in better condition and choose that one, since both are pretty much the same minus the linkage

Re: (ieatrice)
It's not the linkage it's the shift forks. The Y8 96-00 EX tranny's had steel shift forks while the 92-95 EX/Si tranny's had aluminum shift forks. Steel is stronger, so a lot of people recommend them.

Go for the S20 since you actually know the condition and mileage. I woulnd't want to touch a transmission that you don't know where its been.
