92-95 civic si tranny vs ex tranny
is there any difference in the tranny of a 92-95 civic si hatch SOHC and the 92-95 civic Ex tranny or are they the same

u guys sure cuz me and one of my friend been in an arguement on this I think they are the same but he told me he researched and told me they are different trannies which i don' really think so

I'll back them up, they are the same thing. Unless of course you are talking about the 92-95 Si tranny vs the 96-00 Ex tranny. Then they are different.

nah im talkin about the 92-95 ex and 92-95 si yea i beilieved it was the same too if it was the same motor honda wasn't gonna go thru all the trouble of makin a special tranny for it

Yea hes right, I blew up my SI-Del Sol trans and put in an ex and I notice a SLIGHT difference in 5th but its hardly worth mentioning.

i'm gonna be putting the 0.750 5th in my hybrid tranny reall soon
and yess, i've actually counted the teeth to confirm this.

the delslow si's and civic si's have a different rpm fall points after shifting than the ex trannies....for example, ex trannies after you shift, the rpm falls too 4900 rpm, si trannies rpm stays above 5500 rpm through all the gears....thats if you dont granny shift, if you granny shift its like 4700 for ex and 5200 for the si....both my cousins have mini swaps in eg's....one have a ex tranny and one have an si tranny, the one with the si tranny pulls after every gear shift and shifts like half a second before the ex tranny.....it will make a difference depending on how you drive....
