Default EX tranny faster than DX tranny?

I was told that the EX civic trannys have shorter gears than the DX trannys so it has better acceleration.I was wondering if this is true and if so which models have the same tranny as the EX?Also if its true,is there a big difference between the EX and DX acceleration?

It will be noticeable. The EH3 Si has the same tranny, and the 96-00 D16Y8 also has a similarly geared tranny.

The thing is with the 92-95 has aluminum shift forks.
96-00 has steel shift forks.

92-95 is s20

96-00 is s40

Besides that gearing is basically identical

i would definitely go with the ex tranny especially being the simple fact that it comes from the 1.6 single cam vtec's....oh ya it has shorter gears but not by much.
