Rough idle when A/c is put on ''jdm b20b swap''
its not normal and yet to come up with a solution, my idle is rough as **** when i put my a/c on....my only cel right now is my o2 sensor (this friday i will be getting one)
Some positive feed back would be nice
obd2 to obd1 conversion p75 ecu...stock motor b20b motor , it runs excellent like i said only code im getting is o2 sensor, witch will be installed friday....i just want my a/c to work properly !!! =

bump....anyone im at a stump...my alternator is fine, its a B20b the correct alternator and my compressor is working...what could be the big drain from my a/c it drops my idle so bad to where its hard to drive....when i push the clutch in the idle froms to 0-300 .....

i was thinking it might be failing also it takes a bit longer then it would in any other car for the air to get cold...and then it doesnt get its coldest ... i think the only thing my mechanic changed was the compressor ...i still have the sohc radiator thing..i forgot the name of it at the moment 
....
what makes this so frustrating is my idle drops from 1100 to 0 back to 300/350 at most! and when i get the car rolling everytime i push the clutch in the cars idle drops to 0 then to 300 witch makes it hard to catch and causing me to jerk! ...

I agree with Cakewalk, I would find a known working compressor and swap it into your car and report back with what happens and go from there.

Don't see how your RPMs drop to zero and you not stall out. And 1100 RPM is not a stock idle. I think stock is 800.
You know these tachs aren't all that reliable? Really doesn't sound atypical to tell the truth.
At the very least you could adjust the idle speed.

Grumble i understand your point. but im telling you the idle drops so low the car shakes, and then rest at 300 , with a/c on. and the idle is set to that 1100 to accommodate causing my car to die when a/c is put on grumble because when it was at stock when i would put the a/c on the car would DIE. something is really wrong!

I dont know but you might want to also check the electrical load that it is putting onto your car, like checking the alternator and the battery? Just brainstorming lol.

the alternator is fine, because my battery is charged at 100% . with out the a/c car runs perfect but when a/c is on car, is not safe to drive idle is so low car just about dies

I FORGOT to mention. when i was the mechanics and he was testing out my a/c he told me to drive around the block to see if i could drive the car at the moment i could because the car was at its full operating temp...anyway i was backing out his shop and i heard a WEIRD NOISE '''ZZZRRRZZHHZZZ'' AND black smoke came from under my car i was like wtf! it happend 3 more times...i pop'd my hood and he said it was coming from my a/c it was releasing pressure or some bullshit...it did not sound right....
so im getting mad at this its bugging me. i paid 250 more on top of what my swap on my car would of cost for this a/c and it isnt working. i feel like dropping the car off and picking it up when this is all figured out. can anyone tell me what my idle should be at with a/c on?

I wouldn't have left the shop with it like that. But normal idle should be around 800-900. With a load of A/C it should be around 900-1100 I believe.

**** bro then why the hell would he think it was ok for it to be bouncing off 0 then resting at 300 , so its suppose to be at 1100 ok i got it, im dropping this car off friday **** this **** im not picking it up tell this a/c is working properly

I'm still saying its the a/c compressor. Replace that and post the results. I'm gonna bet it will yield the results you would like.

i told him its the compressor he keeps insisting it is not. this is what he said
