rebuilting a honda Distributor?
The distributor in my b series is having issues with the TDC sensor intermittently not working. I was wondering it anyone has experience taking apart the distributor and just replacing the failed part. Im looking at about 300-400 dollars for a new one. But im in college right now and thats pretty steep price. Could you take apart the dist and just replace that sensor?

I do it all the time. Very easy thing to do. Just have to get another distributor. But youll see its easier to replace the whole internals then just one sensor. If you need someone to do it for you we could do it for you.

The other thing is, is where do I get a TDC sensor from?
Also how much you the charge to do it for me? The dist has a new cap and rotor and it works fine except the tdc thing. What else would you recommend replacing?

The sensors in the distributor are unit sensors with only one harness, so unless you cut wires, (NOT SMART) you'll have to find another D series or B series distributor and yank the guts from it and replace them in your bad one.
I did this to a 94 B16A distributor, and used D16Z6 sensors and the bearing, almost 25,000 miles on it and perfect timing.

Actually you could depin them from the harness plug and pull the wires through. I dont recommend this because its to much of a hassle but it could be done.
If your interested in me doing it please PM me.
