Questions about d-series build up.
for a d16y8 with the d16a6 pistons what is the reliability of this setup? It wont be raced much, just ocassionally, and also it will be on only 91 octane. so what do you guys think?

WTF... depends on the quality of the build, driving style, and maintanence. Try it and find out, there are too many variables.

If you reall want to build up your d series and u don't know how, send your car down to http://www.importbuilders.com and for under 2500 u can get new pistons and rods and have your engined sleaved, with new valves. Then buy a nice T4 Kit and boost the **** out of it, 250HP + can be seen around 22 PSI and above and with that block u can take 35 + PSI, but ur clutch and fuel and spark are going to need to be upgraded as well.

As long as you know what your doing, it will be just fine. I have been driving mine with the same basic setup for 50,000 miles with no problems. While your at it, get the D16-A1 rods.

Re: Questions about d-series build up. (Quad-Damge)
250 horsepower @ 23psi is a pretty conservative estimate. Theres a guy on here that boosts 16psi on a d16, stock internals and is making 302. That's pushing the boundrys of stock internals, don't expect that much. But if you build the motor, you should be able to easily push that much with less boost. He ran a 11.6 I belive in a gutted CRX.
