Default wat should i do fo building my motor? (building for 12lbs of boost)

well im sure this has been covered quite a bit, but ive been searching and coming up semi empty handed, just a few lil things here and there, but basically i have a b18c1, my piston ring went, so since the block is goin to be open i should juss build it for my future goal 12 lbs daily driven,(not for another 6 months most likely before i get the turbo kit, (cause of the rebuild prices ) but i know i should resleeve the block, but to what size? and i know i want lower compression pistons, but dont think i need to low for 12lbs, and forged rods, anything else recomended? besides fuel management, etc. or any helpful links or archived files would be great

If you are not going to go above 12lbs then you dont need to sleeve the block. Stock sleeves should handle 12lbs. Forged Rods and Pistons, and a good fuel setup is all you would need. Even Forged internals isnt always necessary for 12lbs. But with a high compression engine like that you can save yourself some hassle by going to a lower compression piston, not necessary but it does it make it easier on yourself and your tuner. The AFC Hack would handle 12lbs fine, but if you got the money a nice standalone (hondata or AEM) is prime. Injectors dont need to be too wild 450cc is plenty and gives you a little extra room. For 12lbs I wouldnt go lower than 8.5:1 for compression maybe as high as 9.0:1, I suppose since you are coming down from 10:1 even 9.5:! maybe ok for 12lbs but if even plan on going higher you might as well but the proper pistons now...

I hope its a rumor cuz I dunno if I can afford sleeves right now ...I am sure there are lots of ppl running forged pistons on stock sleeves. Oh and I was pokign around here and there are some people who have rujn more than 12psi on 10:1 comp so maybe lower the comp isnt necessary for you.

so it seems the first thing to go would be the rods on the stock motor, so forged rods would be the number #1 thing to get, i might as well get slightly lower compression pistons to be on the safe side as well. but on the other note would shot peening the rods be fine? or should i juss throw down $ on some eagles? (crower too pricey)

Eagles are fine...they are used in 600whp applictions. but it is my understanding that forged rods need forged pistons. But I am not sure on that. I always have thoguht that if you are going to tear the block apart you might as well do both

if this is going to be your daily driver in my opinion lower comp is the way to go with that much boost. Unless your going to be running race gas all the time.

That is a good point, what is the highest octane around you>? I get 94 octane where I live so maybe thats why I can get away with more bad habits

Hondata will help you out a lot, as for the HG I have ehard many ppl say the oem gasket works great. I have also heard that block guards are not really worth it but to look into block posting (do a search)
