Default Question about wire tuck

hey so I did a headlight harness wire tuck on my 99 civic and i saw a lot of people were cutting a hole in the fender so thats what I did but just wanted to know should I be concern about the whole being open for water or whatnot going in the cabin? I checked everywhere but no one says anything about those holes after. heres a pic

I would if you don't have a fender liner.

Why didn't you put it through the door grommet?

Because that's a headlight wire tuck. It's routing wires through the fender area and back into the bay closer to the headlights.

ive seen people cut the end of that upper fender rail off so they could run the harness through that tube of steel to the headlights.... I don't remember drilling any holes like that when I did mine.... I used wire holding clamps to hold the wires up from the wheel.

i didn't cut a single thing on my car. I ran the wires through the door grommet and ran them all through the tube in the fender up to the front. I didn't have to cut any wires or extend them at all. They fit perfect that way

Okay. How are you running headlight wires through the door grommet to get to the headlights? I'm confused.

Now I see why the door grommet is an issue.

i did a headlight harness tuck, battery relocation, fuse box relocation into the glovebox and i didn't have to cut a single wire or piece of metal with the fenders off. The only thing i had to do was open up the hole of the channel on the inside of the fender to fit one of the plugs through

Don't see why not. You should look through that 1,400 page shaved and tucked thread in teh Appearance forums.

This is what I did when doing my tuck. I used a hole saw, i think it was 1 1/4 inch, and the plugs fit through just fine. I did although have to do some dremeling to get the plugs through the other hole. (the one in OPs pictures, but above the hole his harness is through)
