HELP! Wire tuck question... found 3 of the same wires. WTF
so im in the process of building my engine and so my car is just sitting in my garage with an empty engine bay. I got bored the other day and decided i wanted to do a simple wire tuck and just tuck the part of the harness that has the headlights, corner markers etc.
The passenger side went smooth, all the wires had their own colors. But when i cut the harness on the drivers side i found there was 3 red/yellow wires. I started looking at the connectors that plug into the headlight, corner marker and washer motor. the only red/yellow wire went to the headlight, so i was confused and started taking the plastic loom off the wires and i found that one of the red/ yellow wires went about halfway to the headlight then was kinda kinked and just turned around...
wtf.
So now i have 3 wires that i dont know where they go. I was talking to my automotive teacher and he said sometimes when the manufacturers are making the harnesses they will put the connectors on first and if they have extra wire they will just kinda loop it around to make it shorter, could this be what happened? Could all 3 of those wires actually be the ONE wire that goes to the headlight?
Sorry for the long post. Hope someone can help me.

That sounds about right, I can't speak for vehicle manufacturers, but I used to work on assembly line building video lottery terminals and I know the girls who built the harnesses used to do that. As a side note all our harnesses were built by hand, they use a large 4' x 4' piece of plywood with nails in it to wrap the wires around, its a very time consuming labor intensive process, IIRC it took about an hour to make a harness for a VLT with a fraction of the stuff that would be in even an older fuel injected honda harness. So I can kind of understand now why honda charges so much for replacement harnesses.
lol thats funny i seen the same thang on my 95 civic coupe yea bro i just took a while guess and just went with what ever then re raped the other 2 around the splice i did and worked just find .
FIXED!
haha, that was weird... i had about 5 feet of extra headlight wire in there.... random.
Thanks for the help guys.
