Problem with my car...something involving my battery and clicking noises
I tried to search for this problem but i couldnt find anything on it.
So after an hour of driving with the AC on, i parked my car in front of a Kragens to get some goods. When I came back, I started my car, but it started to choke, like as if the battery is dead. I took the key out, tried it again, but this time, it starts to choke, choke dies down, then my battery, empty gas, and maintenance lights keeps flickering along with a continuous clicking sound right by my right air vent.
I took my key out and kept retrying, but the same thing kept happening. Eventually i asked a random customer and he jumped my car and the car started again. He said maybe its the alternator.
And also, when i got back home, i tried to lock my door with my clifford alarm, but it didnt lock! I have power locks, and it locks when I arm my alarm, but it didnt work anymore for some reason. I had to manually lock all the locks and set the alarm on.
Any input on what's wrong?

I think something's wrong with the alarm. When I was testing the alarm, it was chirping differently from before.
You guys think maybe the battery was reseted?

sounds like you may have an issue with your alternator not charging the battery. After you drove home there should have been more then enough juice to activate the alarm system. Try putting a multimeter to the battery and see what its at with the car off. Then jump your car again and while its running see what voltage the battery reads. While you do this make sure the a/c, radio, etc is off. if it's below 13 you most likely have a problem with your alternator.

sounds like it could be your battery...maybe its just bad..sometimes wen u lose power to your alarm it will automatically reset itself..get your battery checked...if your battery is bad i dont care how good your alternator is..YOUR ALTERNATOR WILL NOT CHARGE YOUR BATTERY IF IT CANT ACCEPT A CHARGE...meaning if its bad and cant be charged it wont matter if your alternators wurkin...your car will run off the alternator without the battery..but if u shut it off it wont start again..because if you got it jumped you used someone elses battery to start it....

i was borrowing a friends car one time, and it did this and i had to manually charge the battery at night... well it was a broken wire to the alternator... im not saying your wire is broken but after doing what D16SiHatch said, if that doesnt work then take it out and have shucks test it...

Yea I'll bring it to a Kragens tomorrow to get it checked out. So worst case scenario, the batteries dead and somethings wrong with the alternator?
And would that mean I have to reset the alarm again?

sounds like the battery...it wouldnt hurt to get it checked before you replace it, but it most defly sounds like the battery....id say replace it then get your electric system tested somewhere

it's the battery. if you can jump start it and it stays on, your alternator is working fine. your battery should be able to hold its charge after its been running, if not then either service it, or get a new one.

Re: (ekb16)
yea battery was dead. When they tested it, tthey said it was only giving out 10 volts. Replaced battery and now its running good. Im guessing the clicking noise came from the dead battery?? Thanks guys
