Is it possible to have high and low beams stay on at the same time?
I've got a 92 SI and I noticed that when switching to and from the high beams if I hold the lever in both the high and low beams stay on at the same time. This puts out a lot more light than having them only work seperately. Is it possible to wire them so that when I engage the high beams the low beams stay on as well?
I did do a search but I came up empty. TIA.

Many cars have the low-beams on at the same time when high-beam is on.
I never really noticed that Honda Civic's didnt until I read this thread, and I have drove Civics off and on for 10+ years.
weird

Um...I'm not planning on leaving them both on all the time. I'd just like to have more light when I do turn them on.
OK, so if they can be wired to both stay on when the bright lights are turned on how is it done?

I would like to know also...I have a pair of projectors that have separate low/high reflectors and bulbs.....and would like to know how I can get them on at the same time

if you are using the stock bulb (H4) you will burn it out/crack the bulb. The 2 filaments will run really hot. If you have separate bulbs you're good to go (9005 & 9006)

Hmmm...well I really don't know **** about my civic (haven't had it very long yet) so I'm not sure which bulbs I have. Is there a way to convert from h4 to the ones you mentioned? It's a stock 92 SI if that helps.

i would also like to know since i do have seperate bulbs. The difference between having one set on or both is night/day. I am considering hardwiring my lowbeams to the ignition switch and using them as daytime running lamps. i would have to replace bulbs more frequently, but i think it would allow both to be on at once. right?

did u read this post? allowing both to run will lead to blown bulbs and melted harnesses. NO h4/9003/9007 dual filament systems let you run both high and low beams at the same time.

you need to setup a relay to activate your low beams. you can buy a relay system like this from most auto parts stores. they're usually used on GMC/Chevy trucks b/c their low beams shut off when they high beams come on (even with a 4-bulb headlight system!!)

So basically this isn't possible with the stock setup correct? Only by using aftermarket headlights (ie projectors) and some sort of relay can we make it happen?
Bummer.

Did you read MY post? because i thought i made it clear that I had seperate high/low beam bulbs NOT dual filament bulbs. I can certainly see how running both filaments at once would fry your bulbs and possibly your harness quite quickly.
