piping and muffler question
Ok i cant find anyone who can do mendrel bent pipe. My question is if i get 2.5 inch piping crushed bent wouldnt that be equal to 2.25 mendrel. Also i think im just gona grab an inexpensive muffler on ebay, i seen some nice ones n1 style by tusdo. I am also not going to be running a cat, they keep breaking, anyone know where i can get a resonated test pipe. All and all im broke n im trying to stay under 300.00 installed.

Re: (Jmunk)
for a 98 civic hatchback ive read that the muffler is the type that has a cut tip like the tanabe racing Medallion. On the coups they have the n1 stye cnisters which i like even though it comes out streight, im more into getting the angled look, but apexi n1 cat back hangs too low, hks hiper is 500-600.00 and 5zigen is garbage which leaves only a custom job.

you can just order two 90 degree mandrel bent pieces off jcwhitney.com for $10 a piece, then take them to the muffler shop and have them fill in the rest of the piping and you will have a mandrel bent exhaust, except for the part that goes over the axle.
They have 2.25" and 2.5" pieces
They have 2.25" and 2.5" pieces

The general rule of thumb is subract 1/2" from crush bent, and that will roughly equal how well it'll flow. So 3" crush bent will flow like a 2.5" mandrel bend and so on. It's not exactly scientific because some crush bends are done better than others and the crush bending might affect turbulence w/in the piping, but it's just a rough estimate. If you want to stay under $300, might try and buy a used cat-back from a fellow H-T member.

Re: piping and muffler question (teamlegacy)
That doesn't include a muffler, but it's still a good deal. Get a cheap muffler and have someone weld everything. Should be around $300 if not a little under that, depending on the shop and what muffler you use.
