pic request: knock sensor on a d16y8 block
If anybody has a picture, that would be great. just wondering what I should be looking for. hopefully I don't have to remove anything (Intake manifold or oil filter) to get to it.

I didn't think the D series engines had knock sensors!! I thought it was only B series...anyway...the knock sensor is underneath the intake manifold under the #2 intake runner I believe. It's above the oil filter, right below the top of the block. I know the B series have black caps, don;'t know about the Y8's though. It's fairly large in diameter, and has about 1/2 inch of threads that go itno the blck...no pic, and I'm horrible at describing. also, it's really hard to see, you can feel it though.

Yup, I know the D16Z6's didn't have them, but the D16Y8's do.
Oh well, mine will be disabled and removed when I switch over to OBD1, OBD2b sucks!

can you tell me how to remove it? open wrench? socket wrench? my KS actually broke off (i pulled the grey clip and it had half the blue knock sensor attached). Am I gonna be able to get it off from u nder the car?
