Ok I was running my car fast (100 mph+) and my battery light come on and my idle went up

Default Ok I was running my car fast (100 mph+) and my battery light come on and my idle went up

Then my battery slowly discharged, what can be the problem?

could it be a ground? where are they located?

main grounds= valve cover, tranny, battery...check those first

im pretty sure its right beneath the tranny mount on the passenger side...not positive though...should be right around there

does autozone's battery test also check if the alternator is dead right?

i know that they CAN check it...but i dont know if its included...just ask them to check the alternator and youll be all set...good luck

I was reading somewhere and someone posted that when there tranny ground strap broke there coolant temp sensor dropped, how exactly does the tranny ground look like?

I am almost 100% positive its free to check alternator also, worth a try.

i bet you your alternator belt ripped off. happened to my homie before. if its the belt just put a new one on and then charge your battery and it should be fine

nope, the belt is fine, another weird thing is that my car would discharge then after a few hours or overnight, it would startup again and after a few minutes and rev gauge would stop working and and car would stall

It might be both your alternator & battery. The alternator is undercurrent so it causes the battery to discharge, and if you leave a Lead-Acid battery for long enough can build up enough current to start the car.

Having an alternator undercurrent for long enough can cause a battery to fail early.

Just something to think about - definitely get your alternator checked.

I just fixed the problem it was a lose alternator belt total cost: $17 including alternater belt, I love Mexico
