battery light
I put a crank pulley on my EG hatch and now when I start the car the battery light is on until i snap the throttle. is this something im gonna have to live with?

When you change pullies stuff spins slower, hence the system does not see the voltage it needs to corrrectly charge the battery at idle.

Are you saying that an aftermarket pully does not have the same diameter as the stock one?

it is significantly smaller. since the pulley is smaller the alternator isnt spinning as fast at idle. stupid battery light.

i thought they were the same size, damn that sucks. do they make smaller pullies for the alternator?

its not that. the alternator pulley is the same size, the crank pulley is smaller.

I realize this, but if you could get a smaller alternator pully, it would offset the change in the crank pulley.
