oil pressure gague question
just bough a oil pressure gague. its going on my b16a3.
it uses a oil pressure sender, like so:
now. i assume i just take the specified wire on the gague and run it to the smaller threaded end on the sender...
my main question is this... the sender has a thread size of 1/8-27 NPT.
will that work on the block, or do i need a converter piece?

you need to buy a "T" cause if you just unhook the oem sending unit, your oil light will be on all the time. try http://www.tunertoys.com

That is not true. Its backwards. If you dont have the stock sender hooked up at all your oil light will never come on. You dont really need it because of the oil pressure. So if you dont want to T it then you dont need to. Just plug the sender into the stock sender hole, wire it up and your good to go.

what about fitting sizes? my gagues says dont use teflon tape because it will cause a grounding problem, and will read inaccurately.

Re: oil pressure gague question (jbell)
you should use teflon tape otherwise it couldleak real bad, and it still should make metal to metalcontact and ground it fine, but as i stated before yuo dont need to remove the stock oil pressure sender, there is a plug under the dizzy you can use

My bad, i knew that, for some reason i thought it was a "D". and i was just speaking from experience on the oem thing. i did my buddys in his 99si (tried unhooking it and hooking up but zip-tied to the firewall and the oil press light was on. Sorry for the mis-info

im not worried about the stock sender. i want to make sure the npt and bpst or whatever will match up.

I put Teflon on mine. But then again mines mech and not electric. But i would still put teflon on that because you have to ground a wire anyway. Just dont put much and dont cover the hole and you should be fine.

Yeah I just went looking for that plug, where exactly is it located? I couldnt really get a good look directly under the dizzy, and all I saw below and in front of the dizzy were a few harnesses plugged into the head.
