Default Oil Pressure

What happens if I run with the stock oil pressure sending unit unplug. I have a oil pressure gauge and that big fat oil pressure sending unit has to go somewhere. I have the ls vtec firewall kit, that has my oil feed, vtec head feed,my line coming out the back of the block and my stock oil pressure sending unit out the other end.

Now I was wondering how do I make the big unit work? Thanks

YOu're just going to have to add another 1/8npt T - and you can run both - no biggy. You can also just unplug the stock sensor and I don't think you'll get a code. Don't quote me though. I run both.

The oil light circuit is normally open and to close the circuit and activate the oil pressure light, the pressure has to dip below like 5psi or something stupid low. Another words you can unplug the stock sender and no oil light.

I just run a Defi sender and no oil light. And actually even tho the Defi instructions said their sendor threads were 1/8" NPT I didnt need the BSPT adapter, mine screwed right in without problem. The BSPT adapter did not screw in easily.

basically your saying just unplug my stock sending unit from my oil distribution box. Just put my oil pressure gauge sending unit in that spot? Everything would be all set?

Ok, now I taken off the stock sending unit, put it on the side and replaced with the oil pressure gauge unit. Would that wire that use to go to the stock sending unit make my car throw a code???

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">And actually even tho the Defi instructions said their sendor threads were 1/8" NPT I didnt need the BSPT adapter, mine screwed right in without problem. That's because the thread pitch is the same but the BSPT threads are rounded, not sharp like NPT threads. IOW, the BSPT should be harder to screw in, but it is also more secure.
