OBD1 ----> OBD2 Alternator. Differences??
I have an OBD1 harness in my car and I need an alternator. I have the right alternator the only problem is that it is OBD2. 2 out of the 4 wires are the same and 2 are different. Does anyone know what wire coresponds to what wire if I were to cut the clip of the OBD1 harness and solder on a clip from an OBD2 harness. And if this will cause any problems. I am pretty sure they are the same internally and just have updated clips on the OBD2.
Thanks, Mike.
Thanks, Mike.

A friend of mine only soldered on the matching wires, but the the other two he left out. He just tape them up. Till this day he had no problems with it.
