Default check this out (just wanted to share)...

so i was fixing another problem tonight and on my way a noticed the shifter felt unusually sloppy...popping out of gear kinda. now it has never been quite right since i got my swap...so i figured i would take a look at it...this is what i saw.

wow...could this have damaged anything? my linkage was bend and i had JUST gotten one from a guy on here...so for now i swapped out the bushing. it was totally missing the metal piece on top...do these break regularly...or is that unheard of?

Aren't there suppose to be some screws for that =P glad you noticed that..and yes a shift linkage with either with torn bushings or missing bolts and screws can cause it to pop out.. but usually these kinda parts don't break from waht I've seen.. they usually break if they've been cut and welded usually

the bolts are there if you look real close. the metal sleeves in the bushing slipped right out and then i guess it just fell off.
