need some help: stripped bolt

Default need some help: stripped bolt

Hi there i recieved a motor and it came without a flywheel that being said i had it built its an LS block im in the process right now of putting it back together and noticed that one of the crank hole(for flywheel) were stripped very bad beyond using a tap...my question is can i run it without one bolt? any help would be great thanks....

I'm not an expert but I'd be really careful running without that particular bolt. Your clutch/flywheel could potentially misalign and cause your transmissions gears to tweek a bit. I think. If i'm wrong, then cover the area with high temp gasket maker. **** call the honda dealership and speak with one of the real mechanics they will know for sure. Also, make sure that they know you are mechanically inclined cause one time the mechanic told me that the car probobly wouldn't start with a bad 02 sensor.

I wouldnt run it w/o the bolt - flywheel attaches to the crank..

just think of it being out of balance w/o that last bolt there...

the flywheel is still aligned with the crank i have the rest of the bolts in i just dont have one....

i would get it heli coil or time sert but i would want to run it without that bolt... there is a lot of force being transfered through those bolts

i went to try and buy a tap i exammed the threads better and it could be tapped but no one has a tap... checkers,ace,home depot,autozone....no where i need 12mm by 1.00 fine pitch.....
