ok i have been working with a friend taking out my old engine for the jdm d16 and we have a problem. One of the bolts on the Flywheel to the old block is so STRIPPED. the Gator tool doesnt grab it, ive tried the GrabIt method of drillin in and drilling out, but my electric drill doesnt even move cause its so tight as well. I need to get this drill out! i have to take my friend back to his home (45 min away) and my honda is the only transportation.. so basically we need to get this done. seems like everything has been held up on this one damn bolt.. How can i get this out???? Please help!

NAPA has this set of tools that grab the strip bolt by a reverse lock, work tomorrow so I will get the part number for you.
this one is the professional version of the gator tool.

only problem with that is i now have little to no money left.. when i went to get oil/cooland/trannyfluid etc today i was 2$ short and he had to do discounts like mad... ugh

ya well.. have a flywheel bolt from hell wasnt really something i could have planned ahead for. yes **** happens and all but i could not have expected a single ****** bolt to hold everything up for 9 hours now. ( we went to sleep for a few of those hours tho )

theres no auto stores open at all ( drove allthrough salt lake )

bet you used a five sided on it didnt you...

i usually just use a dremel and cut a knotch down the middle, so i can use a flathead on it...but i'm not sure you could back that bolt out that way..must be over torqued.

Cut a slot in it with a grinder, and put a large straight screw driver against the slot and tap with hammer. Pretty easy, I had to do this not too long ago.

thanks guys i got it finally lol. but couldn't find anywhere that had that bolt so i had to put the old one back on when i put it on new motor =\

if it was so stripped how did u tq it down properly?

it was able to catch good on a socket when going right to tighten, just to the left it was like a slip n slide what are you supposed to torq it to -_- i dont have a torq wrench and have already been running the car for 130 miles

that craftsman set has saved my *** many times. well worth the buy. i dont know what id do without them......
