Default Need Help With My Turbo

I have a 99 civic ex vtec sohc, and im going to turbo it, i need to know what all i will need to run boost on an sohc, ive heard dish pistons and h-beam rods most of the time to run 16 - 18 lbs of boost, and i also heard somethin of i need a turtle girdle to i dunno though. and ive been told i have to put my car onto a dyno to get the turbo tuned is this true? Please help.

Many questions needing answered. Thanks.

Im looking to turbo my d16z6 and from what i have been told you can run stock internals and still make up to about 225whp. Anything more than that and you are looking at new rods, pistons, etc. Check those websites above. They will help you alot. You can piece together a turbo set up pretty cheap.

Turbo
Turbo manifold
intercooler piping and couplers
intercooler
blow off valve
vacuum lines
injectors
H-T is the best place to look for parts
and last and the most important TUNING!
the dyno tune is the best way to tune but not for everyone with a budget
some tuners may street tune it for you

the people that tell you that you need to build your block to boost a SOHC are very ignorant SOHC blocks are strong...well until 230+ whp then you need to build it but anything below it should be no problem.....people say that because they don't tune it right, they run lean and, blow their motor and then blame the weak block..

you need bags, a toyota taccoma, a c notch in the frame, hole in the bed, an air tank, a few switchs and some *****


oh ya that was just my next project haha mini truck frame grinder

buy my civic its for sale and turbo already :D

anyways

manifold
t25 or td40h from a variety of eclipses, plymoths and eagles (only those equlivent to the clipse tho)
bov
intercooler
gaskets or make em
-welder
-knowledge
-some gauges optional
-oil lines (kit or make em i made em)
-grainger valve(helps)
-bigger injectors
-walbro 255lph
-a good dyno tuner
