Mini Me Help.......Coolant leaking
Well i decided to do a mini me swap on my 94 civic dx (d15b7) i went with the ol d16z6 head..........i put everything together and i started to add some coolant to the car.....and what do you know it decided to leak now it is leaking right behind the vtec solenoid.....it seems like its leaking through the intake manifold (and i am using the stock intake manifold) i did put a new gasket on it but it was cheap autozone one and i didnt use any sealant........my question is do you think the crappy gasket and not using sealant could be the problem to my leak? i really dont want to take the head back off but if it comes down to that ill do it.........any suggestions, thoughts or inputs would be appreciated..........thanks

this has nothing to do with your problem ..but iam doing the same thing to my 94 dx hatch..did you have any problems beside the coolant leaking? WAS IT FAIRLY EASY..also im pretty sure you must put sealant on most important gaskets on a motor ..try puting sealant on the gasket and try it out..

it's your intake manifold gasket, which should be installed DRY.
Did you ensure the mating surfaces were clean?
Did you use the correct torque spec?
Are you sure you didn't forget a nut?
Did you use the right gasket...?
