installing intake gasket (d16z6)
On the old gasket there was metal that went around the coolant port but the new gasket i got doesnt (felpro). but it does have a little metal around a circle port that looks to go nowhere. Is the metal around the coolant port necessary?<?<? and is there a special procedure when tightening the manifold down?<?<?

Re: installing intake gasket (caliscrilla)
Are you putting the intake manifold on or the throttle body?
If there was a gasket there originally then im sure you need something there. When i replaced the IM and gasket on my old gsr i just slapped it on there and put it all back together.
Shoot some liquid gasket on there and put her back together!

it should be fine. use a razor blade and get off all the old gasket and make sure the sufaces on both the head and intake manifold are clean before reinstalling. tighten ffrom middle-out
