Default Messy / oily engine

right below my valve cover is where this starts
no liquid visible anywhere
it isn't wet, but it is moist-ish yet crumbley black oil stuff ALL of over my engine

i dont think i burn oil
i drip it so it's hard to tell

i have oil on top of one of my spark plugs
i replaced the plug gaskets about 5 months ago so im iffy if that's the problem
a compression test checked out fine

i read it is the iavc
if it is should i clean it or replace it?
where exactly is it located?
should i check any of the lines for being clogged?
i plan on following this https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1844067
i have a d15b7 about 165k

Take the car to a car wash get yourself a can of engine degreaser and hose the engine down with cleaner. Let it soak per can directions and rinse with water repeat and scrub areas with heavy crud. Drive the car and look for where the oil is leaking from

the drip i mentioned is underneath somewhere
the valve cover gasket was replaced with the plug gaskets about 5 months ago
there is no visible sign of leakage from the gasket

when using cleaner... if i cover the alt. and the dist. everything else is safe?

ill check out the gaskets
