ITR LSD in SIR tranny
Hi,
I searched but didn't find much, I am preparing to install the integra type R torsen differential in my 99 SIR (US SI) B16 tranny. The diff came with the ball bearings, one is rough so I am replacing both bearings with the acura type R ball bearings again, from what I understand these are the correct bearings for the B16 as well? Is there anything I should be concerned about? Or is this a direct swap.
Thanks,
Andrew

you need to check the installed height with a feeler gauge, but if you are getting into this you should have a service manual. it tells you where the spec is, and as far as i know, CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG, the itr bearings are the same as the sir. i know for a fact, the gsr's are different. found that out the hard way.

The ring gear from your B16 transmission will not bolt onto the ITR differential. The bolt pattern is different.
In order to complete this installation you will need to locate a ring gear from an Integra with a 4.4 final drive (ITR, GSR). The mainshaft does not need to be changed. The bearings are the same.

Thanks guys, if I put an ITR ring gear on, won't I need the matching drive gear as well, aren't they supposed to remain as a matched set?
Thanks,
Andrew
