intake manifold affecting my power band?
ok. got an eg hatch. its d15b7 block, jdm d15b vtec head. p08 ecu. d16y8 intake manifold. d series tb. the swap pretty much feels like the stock b7.... but with power after 6000 rpms. the power band really kicks in after about 6500 and actually lasts till 7500. never drops off. I've never felt a d15b eg before... so i assumed that it was okay. i looked up power of a d15b and i read "130hp @ 5800rpms." now... i know im not making that. i heard something about intake manifolds affecting power bands, plenum sizes and runner lengths, i also heard the y8 would move the power band higer. SO THE QUESTION. Should i get a z6 intake minifold???? (i read its the same as a d15b, and the d15b was designed with it) Would it affect the power band? would my car make more low end power? would it make more overall power????? THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!! any other questions let me know!

Is your engine stock. As in no bolt ons or anything? And I'm guessing its a stock p08. Not chipped. Also note that p08 reads a 1 wire 02 sensor. Not a 4 wire. Which can throw of fuel mixture. But yeah if its completely stock mani might be messing things up . Weird cuz I'm planning to switch to that manifold for my z6 and it shows gains.

130 for the D15B. The D15B7 only makes 102. The Y8 intake is a little shorter and fatter, so better top end. The Z6 is a little skinnier and longer, so it'll have better mid range.
When you set the timing, did you line up the crank gear for the timing belt with the mark on the oil pump? Some people try to use the crank pulley and that's a little harder.
