Default loss of power after VTEC engagement

heres the deal

i have a y8 motor. i recently swapped out the ITBs to go back to the skunk2 manifold and SRI. When i drive the car normally, its fine and drives nice and smooth. but, if i get on it and get in VTEC, i have a noise which sounds like air is escaping and it feels like im losing some power up top. i have no CEL's and no signs of any fluilds leaking anywhere....................someone have any imput???

was the car tuned with the itb's? cause the air fuel ratio will be real different so you may need to retune

did you put a new intake manifold gasket on? it could also be the intake, if there is a small hole in it it will hiss

not soo much that something is breaking, it sounds like a high pitched squeal that cuts on and off really fast when the car gets to about 6k in the powerband. i did replace the IM gasket and checked all lines goin into and from the manifold...............
